Azadeh Mohammadi is a theatre director and actress. She was born in 1979 in Tehran/Iran and got her bachelor’s degree in Theatre (Dramatic Literature) from Sooreh Higher Education Institute in Tehran (2005). She worked as an actress in TV and theatre in Iran, Dubai.

She continued her practical and academic career in Prague at Prague Film School (Acting Program) and after that at DAMU, Drama Faculty of Prague in Theatre Directing. 

She directed the production of “Someone who’ll watch over me” by Frank McGuinness the Irish playwright for the first time in the Czech Republic at Svandovo Divadlo, Prague in November 2014.

Azadeh had her graduation  production " A Moment of Silence" by a well known Iranian playwright Mohammad Yaghoubi at DISK theatre in June 2015, which also was performed at the festival “Nad Prahou pulmesic” in November 2015 in Prague, in which  Mohammad Yaghoubi (The author of this play) was also invited to this festival. After that, this production was  performed as one  of the main side events of The Festival of Iranian Films in Jan 2016. It will be performed at the Theatre World Festival in Brno on 30th of May, 2016. 

Azadeh continues her career in acting besides her directing, she performed in her own production of “A Moment of Silence” and the other production “Oh My Sweet Land” by Amir Nizar Zuabi, directed by Lida Engelova. She also acts in “Macbeth” production of Prague Shakespeare Company. 

She loves educational works, therfore she holds acting/Directing workshops at Prague Shakespeare Company and DAMU, the drama faculty of Prague. Since Sep 2015 she started to work on theatre productions with the Erasmus students of acting programme at DAMU. 

Azadeh likes to have fun in her work as an actress and a director. She enjoys working in groups and always is positive about what happens on her way in this profession.
